I use brands like Estee Lauder, Chanel, shu uemura, Mac, Coastal Scents, Bobbi Brown, Kryolan, Maybelline, Loreal, and etc. There's personal favourite but not particularly in terms of brands but rather the quality and suitability. I want to get more out of a product.
As you know I took my makeup course in Cosmoprof Singapore, so when I first started, I used mostly products recommended by the school (some of which I'm still using today, for example Kryolan foundation stick - I like to use highly pigmented products).
As I progressed, I developed a "craving" for owning the newest makeup products in the market - what a shopaholic! However, most of the products were chucked in the drawer after a few time usage. The reason usually being the product may be good for personal use but professionally it's not very helpful in my work.
Now, I have curbed this urge to buy. Not only that, I will spend time researching on the product before deciding to buy. I will be reviewing some of the products to let you know why I chose to use it. However, as new improved makeup products are always available on the market, I try to keep up with this change. This is why I find it hard to keep telling people what brand of products I use. But one thing for sure, I will use only products that are certified safe.
I haven't met any client with hyper sensitive skin, example, it itches from the contact of dust and pollutant like haze, which by the way I will refuse to do makeup for. So I'm sorry if you belong to this category. Some of my client have mild sensitive skin, that is some redness in the skin.
The worst I have come across is a girl whose face was covered with acne. I feel sorry for that client as she does not know what to do with her face(long story). That was one experience worth mentioning as I managed to cover her acne and she was so happy even before the full makeup. And she really enjoyed her prom night as her friend all commented on the transformation. The products I use did wonder for her.
Of course I don't have a miracle one-for-all product but I will try my very best to choose products that are good for my clients :)
